Maria Riegler: The Incentive for Self-Regulation

Maria Riegler, MSc., Research Asscociate at the Institute for Business Ethics and Sustainable Strategy (IBES) at FHWien der WKW, was presented as “Geistesblitz” (flash of inspiration) in the Research Special Supplement of the daily newspaper “Der Standard” of 26.8.2020.

In the article, Maria Riegler talks about her dissertation, which she is writing at Modul University Vienna. The subject of her dissertation is Collective Action. Specifically, she is examining the reasoning behind private actors’ (especially companies) participation in the creation of private regulation and in partnerships that aim to advance social or environmental goals.

Maria Riegler conducts her research at the IBES of the FHWien der WKW. There, the researchers are working on research questions related to collective actions in the research areas of “Business Ethics” and “Corporate Governance”, among others.
