Corporate due diligence and human rights are gathering importance and focus within politics, society and for business, in particular because of current legal developments and increasing human rights risks.
In the context of the annual Multi-Stakeholder Forum 2022, organized by the Austrian National Contact Point and entitled “The OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises – Human Rights in Focus”, Maria Riegler and Melanie Rainer of IBES gave a keynote speech on “Supply Chain Responsibility: Business and Human Rights” at the Federal Ministry of Labour and Economic Affairs on 29.11.2022. In addition to the historical course as well as current developments in the topic complex of business and human rights, the two speakers also addressed challenges, opportunities, recommendations, and toolkits for Austrian companies. Furthermore, a reference was also made to the study published in August:
