Principles for Responsible Management Education

In order to promote the training of responsible managers, FHWien der WKW joined the internationally highly regarded initiative “Principles for Responsible Management Education” (PRME) as early as 2015.

Initiated by the UN Global Compact, the United Nations is using PRME to strengthen the central role of universities and thus promote sustainable developments in the economy and society. A particular concern of the initiative is to train managers who think and act in an economically, ecologically and socially sustainable manner.

The participating universities commit to aligning their core competencies ⎯ education and research ⎯ as well as their working methods and strategies with the following principles: purpose (1), values (2), methods (3), research (4), partnerships (5) and dialogue (6).

IBES is part of the PRME working group “Sustainability Mindset“. The network of scientists promotes sustainable ways of thinking and acting that support the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
