Cooperation Opportunities

Research cooperation with IBES

The Institute for Business Ethics and Sustainable Strategy (IBES) has excellent theoretical and methodological expertise in the areas of “Business Ethics,” “Corporate Governance” and “Sustainability Management” as well as experience in the implementation of transfer projects with various partner organisations.

IBES conducts application-oriented research projects together with partner organizations from academia and government, civil society, and/or industry. These research projects are carried out using rigorous research methods on various topics and are designed to provide demonstrable added value for the Institute’s various stakeholders. In particular, decision-makers are to receive science-based support in decision-making. For example, the knowledge gained from the projects can support managers in innovation and change processes in organizations. In addition, IBES experts are available for keynotes, workshops or training sessions.

IBES offers the following concrete cooperation opportunities:

Contract-based research

IBES researchers regularly carry out commissioned studies on specific issues in their research areas. Questions, methods and communication of results are closely coordinated with the clients.

Funded cooperation projects

Together with partner organisations from academia and government, civil society, and/or industry, research funding applications can be submitted. Within the framework of such collaborations, the participants contribute their respective expertise.

The selection of the funding programme depends on the research question, duration and financial scope. IBES provides support in the search for a suitable funding programme.

Academic sponsorship

Companies and organisations have the opportunity to provide long-term financial support for the research activities at IBES. For example, the Endowed Chair of Corporate Governance & Business Ethics is the first professorship for business ethics in Austria and is financially supported by corporate partners. The Endowed Chair of Microeconomics of Competitiveness is co-financed by the Vienna Chamber of Commerce.

Further endowed and guest professorships as well as general research activities and events on IBES topics can be created in this way.

IBES research follows the standards of good scientific practice and is based on ethical principles. The IBES orients itself on the “Guidelines for Good Scientific Practice (GWP)” of the ÖAWI (Austrian Agency for Scientific Integrity).
